Morning Medina in Meknes

Once the capital of Morocco (1672 – 1727), Meknes is often overshadowed by the much larger medina found in neighboring Fez. I only stayed a day (partially because I was shivering all night in my hotel, which didn’t believe in heating), and decided to explore the medina by early morning, before all of the shops opened up.

Most of the streets and markets don’t seem too crowded. I like the hanging magic lamp/teapot.

Terrific batch of images. Love the narrow streets and alleys in that morning light.

With the new image viewing feature, I don’t know how to make individual comment on the photos. Anyway, I agree with Pascal and Laura. I love soft light in these photos. I like the mannequins dressed in purple and the pinks with cat (perfect composition!!). :) Forth row photos have very nice mood (especially the leftmost one).

Did you do that to mess with us or did that cat really have just one blue eye? :)

The cat really had one blue eye. Odd effect, isn’t it?
